Personal Care Assistance:
- Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed.
- Provide assistance with eating, including meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
Companionship:
- Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging in conversation, and offering activities to promote social interaction and mental well-being.
- Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to maintain clients’ independence and dignity.
Household Assistance:
- Help with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Assist with grocery shopping and meal preparation to ensure clients have nutritious meals.
- Ensure the home environment is clean, safe, and organized for the client’s comfort and well-being.
Medication Reminders:
- Assist with medication reminders as prescribed by the client’s healthcare provider.
- Monitor the client’s medication schedule and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate health professionals.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Observe and document changes in the client’s physical, emotional, or mental condition.
- Report any concerns or changes in health status to family members or healthcare providers as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of daily care activities and observations.
Transportation and Errands:
- Provide transportation to appointments, social events, or community activities.
- Run errands such as picking up prescriptions, groceries, or other necessary items for the client.
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional certification, such as a PCA or CNA certificate).
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Attendant, caregiver, or in a related field is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and provide care according to the client’s individual needs and preferences.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and assist with mobility needs.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or willing to obtain).
- Ability to lift, carry, and assist clients with mobility.
- Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel to provide care.
- Must have the ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on client needs.
- Must adhere to safety protocols and respect client confidentiality and privacy at all times.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Attendant (PCA) who provides non-medical assistance and support to individuals with disabilities, the elderly, or those with chronic health conditions. The PCA will help enhance the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily living activities and personal care and ensuring their comfort and safety in a supportive environment.
